Our Background
First established in 1937, Harold Newsome Ltd has grown rapidly in the last decade and whilst contracts have increased in scope and complexity, the core values at the heart of our family-run company have remained.
This allows us to provide a personal touch alongside the professionalism and specialist detail which we give to every project.
Although the majority of our projects fall within the traditional heartlands of Yorkshire/Lancashire, the midlands and London, we also operate throughout the length and breadth of the UK. In the last 3 years alone we have worked on projects based in every corner of the UK from Aberdeen to Penzance and Norfolk to the west coast of Wales.
History
In the early years the company specialised in the design and production of small scale structural steel frames. During the 2nd World War the company diversified at the request of the government and produced components for the famous floating Mulberry Harbours which were moored off the coast of Normandy in the wake of the D-Day landings. After the war the business reverted back to providing structural steel frames from industrial sheds to schools and hotels as Britain re-grouped and re-built.
The business has thrived over its 80 year history and currently employs over 50 people. We pride ourselves on being a stalwart of the local community, providing jobs, sponsoring local teams and working closely with local businesses.
Relationships
We pride ourselves on working closely with clients and main contractors with the aim of developing relationships which stand the test of time. This ethos has allowed us to develop partnerships which have spanned for over 40 years.
Our Mission
We Aim to Build a Better World
We thrive off being devoted and giving back to our community. We are active donators to JustGiving - where we help out as many charities and organisations as possible. It's important for us to help out in any way we can. We sponsor events run by our local communities and various junior football teams - usually of the sons and daughters of the people we have working at Harold Newsome Ltd. Currently, we are the proud sponsors of two rugby teams, one that is local to us in Leeds (West Leeds RUFC) and the other being in London (London Japanese RUFC).

Paving the Way to a Better Tomorrow
As an important part of the community, we work hard to serve the needs of those in need. We believe in paving the road for those in need, leading to opportunities for a brighter future.
Harold Newsome Ltd are this year proud to be supporting the Bramley Salvation Army branch with their Christmas toy appeal and would like to extend massive thanks to all our staff for their generous donations as well as the Salvation Army for all the good work they do in the community.
A special thank you also to Construction Metal Sales, who in 2022, kindly donated £5,000 worth of toys and gifts to this truly amazing charity. Each year, with the help of your generosity, Harold Newsome Ltd are able to give back significantly to the community around us.
